Democrats seem to be willing to continue fighting back, and it’s about damn time. Several Democrats have said that they will oppose the confirmation of Gonzales as Attourney General. Kennedy, Biden, and Byrd have been some of the most vocal. Kennedy and Byrd are usually outspoken, and it’s good that the voice is growing louder.
Of course Republicans say that Gonzales shouldn’t be held accountable for pesky things like the Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay prisoner abuse scandals. But have they forgotten that it was Gonzales that’s basically given Bush the green light to ignore international treaties?
