Former Homeland Security head Tom Ridge just admitted that changes to the US’ threat level was often done by the White House for political motivation. This is something that the rest of us have known for a while, but that is now confirmed by Ridge. You’ll remember that there were a lot of increases in the threat level around Democratic high-profile events, and an extension of the threat level was used to throw the public out of Ohio vote tally viewings during the 2004 General Election.
