It is just plain sad when people keep their heads in holes, and don’t pay attention to what’s going on in the world. In this opinion, Judson claims, “Hussein twice went to war with America , waged war against our allies, attempted to assassinate an American President and actively funded terrorism against the United States; …” Um, did you miss the memo? First of all, it is a stretch, though not totally a lie (just not exactly the truth) that Hussein went to war with America twice. The second time, though, was when he fought back against Dubya started our current Iraq War with him. I don’t support Hussein, nor do I support George Bush starting this quagmire we’re in. The statement of “attempted to assassinate an American President” – where did this come from. September 11th attack of the United flight that crashed into Pennsylvania? That’s the only thing I can think of. That, combined with the final part of the statement, “and actively funded terrorism against the United States…”
Judson? Check in with your boys in DC. Even Dubya has said that there is no connection between Saddam Hussein and the September 11th attacks, and that there’s even no evidence that he supported al Qeida. Methinks Judson should check his facts.
Oh, and one more thing, Bucko…. America is safer now that Saddam was captured (by the Kurds, btw – not our own forces)? Not! Saddam has never been a threat to people on American soil. Maybe his immediate neighbors, Iran and Kuwait, are safer, and the Iraqi people are definitely safer. But Americans? Get a grip.
