Hereâ€™s the thing about Donald Trumpâ€™s presidency; he just doesnâ€™t freaking get it. All along the campaign trail, heâ€™s derided (at best) anyone who has criticized him, and that worked for him. He was able to gin up press coverage and engage his supporters by saying the absolute worst thing about those that donâ€™t support him. And thatâ€™s fine for candidate Trump.
But heâ€™s not a candidate anymore. Heâ€™s the president of the United States. Not just of those supporting him, but the entire United States. So why in the hell does he insist on calling people like meâ€Šâ€”â€Špeople like civil rights leader and Congressman John Lewisâ€Šâ€”â€Špeople like Jim Acosta from CNNâ€Šâ€”â€Šthat we are enemies, or worse?
President Trump, you became president of the entire United States, not just those people you agree with. So stop calling us enemies, and start acting like a president.
