I’m Not an Enemy — I’m a Constituent

Here’s the thing about Donald Trump’s presidency; he just doesn’t freaking get it. All along the campaign trail, he’s derided (at best) anyone who has criticized him, and that worked for him. He was able to gin up press coverage and engage his supporters by saying the absolute worst thing about those that don’t support him. And that’s fine for candidate Trump.

But he’s not a candidate anymore. He’s the president of the United States. Not just of those supporting him, but the entire United States. So why in the hell does he insist on calling people like me — people like civil rights leader and Congressman John Lewis — people like Jim Acosta from CNN — that we are enemies, or worse?

President Trump, you became president of the entire United States, not just those people you agree with. So stop calling us enemies, and start acting like a president.
