Shouldn’t our elected officials be considered beyond reproach? Shouldn’t they jump at the chance to gloat and say they can’t be bought? Apparently not in Utah.

Utah Democratic State Representative Ralph Becker has officially abandoned his proposal to keep him and his elected compatriats in the Utah State House, from taking gifts from lobbyists that cost more than $15.00 (click for story). Republicans wouldn’t even let his proposal out of committee, which disallows the proposal to be open for public debate.

If you’re an elected official, you work for US, not the lobbyists! You people in Utah need to stress that to your elected officials.
