I have to admit, when I found this article, I almost lost my lunch after reading just the first sentence, which reads:
The US military is clearing the way for executions of condemned terror suspects to take place at the Guantanamo Bay detention facility.
Executing SUSPECTS?!?!?! Someone who is THOUGHT to have committed a crime but HASN’T BEEN PROVEN in a court of law?
The article says that the change is aimed primarily at US Servicemen and Servicewomen sentenced to death at a military court martial. But what about our detainees? They’re not Servicemen or Servicewomen.
If this disturbs you as much as it disturbs me, talk to the House Committee on Armed Services or the Senate Armed Services Committee.
