The Democratic Party of Brenham County, Texas, held their county convention recently (click for story). And if their platform is any indication to what’s in store for the National Democratic Convention, I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree with their thinking! Their platform includes:

* Abolishing the Electoral College
* Repealing Bush’s false Medicare Drug Improvement of 2003
* Dealing with the outsourcing of thousands of American jobs.

I have to totally agree. We have changed to get direct elections of Senators. We need to abolish the Electoral College. We wouldn’t be in the horrible mess that we’re in with the Bush Administration today, if it weren’t for the Electoral College.

The Washington County Democratic Party passed a number of resolutions Saturday at its county convention, including support for Brenham State School and one calling for abolishing the electoral college.

The party’s Resolutions Committee, consisting of Doss Pruett, Roger Russe and Fred Shelton, presented a number of resolutions for approval.

Two local resolutions were discussed: satellite voting in the general election and “town hall” meetings in commissioner precincts.

Selected as delegates to the Democratic state convention that will be held June 18-19 in Houston were: Bill Young, John Muegge, Carol Muegge, Angela Jackson, LaSandra Sanders, Patricia Olney, Doss Pruitt and Dorris Burrell.
