Wednesday, May 4th, 2005

In the wasteland that is the Republican controlled Congress, Democrats aren’t going to waste time waiting, and are trying to set the agenda themselves, and are starting with a call to expand healthcare coverage for the working poor and help those over 55. Progressive Democrats can fill the void that the Republicans have left. They [...]

Article on “Justice Sunday”

Wednesday, May 4th, 2005

There’s a good article (comparatively speaking) on “Justice Sunday” that was held recently, and why it’s a bad thing that the Republicans are trying to end the filibuster. The good thing about the article is the point at which they compare Martin Luther King, Jr. *not* saying the white people who were suppressing them were [...]

There’s a good article by John Farmer over at NJ.com that points out the hypocrasy of the Religious Right. It’s definately a good read, pointing out that judges are only activist judges when they don’t react the way the right wants them to. And he makes the point that the right always seems to forget; [...]

Indiana Voter Suppression Starts Early

Monday, May 2nd, 2005

Looks like the legislators in Indiana, a red state, is starting early. There’s a new law that requires a photo ID as proof of voting eligibility. This is a classic type of suppression that Republicans do. This is just another point in their playbook. Well, Democrats are fighting it. We’ll see how good it does.

Rep Rossi STILL Won’t Concede

Monday, May 2nd, 2005

Unbelievable as it may be, 2004 Republican Gubenatorial candidate Dino Rossi is still not conceding a race he lost 6 months ago. After trying to claim victory without having a basis in reality and demanding that his Democratic opponent concede, when it came to his losing, he wanted a do over. Well, a judge in [...]
